Carmella's Plates and Pints
About us
Carmella’s Plates & Pints is the first restaurant for co-owners, Carmella Salem and Michael Alberter. They have both been in the restaurant and bar industry for more than 30 years. The kitchen creates a variety of upscale comfort cuisine. They both felt that the Southside was ready for an upscale ambiance that would attract and support a more mature audience. The decor features a lodge-like feel due to a wooden beamed cathedral ceiling, an open fireplace, taxidermy, and stained glass windows that adorn the dining room. Our guests feel as though they are tucked away in a warm and cozy ski lodge in the heart of Southside.
A Local Butcher delivers meats daily and our Chef is always searching for unique ingredients to prepare new and inventive meals. We love to have wild game on the menu such as a couple of staple dishes like our Bison Burger and Veal Bolognese. The menu changes seasonally and nightly specials are prepared with the hopes of making it on our ever-evolving menu.
The bar atmosphere has the look and feel of a prohibition speak easy. Wooden beams, exposed brick, dim lighting, with rows and rows of liquor adorn rustic wooden shelves for all to see. With a count of over 300 Whiskeys and over 125 Tequilas, a guest should never leave here thirsty. The tap systems are made out of used and refurbished whisky barrels that protrude from the wall. There are 27 craft beers on tap, 11 wines on tap and 11 craft cocktails on tap. Carmella and Mike look forward to greeting their guests at the door and inviting them in to their humble abode.
